Energy Crops
The cultivation of fast-growing trees such as poplars or willows in short rotation serves to obtain wood chips as fuel and thus enables climate-neutral heat and electricity generation in biomass thermal power stations. The Energy Crops GmbH team today manages more than 2,000 hectares of short rotation coppice (SRC) in cooperation with farmers in Brandenburg and western Poland in order to ensure a secure supply of wood fuel from their own cultivation.
