The effective storage of electrical energy is an essential element of future energy policy and an important part of the energy transition. Modern lithium-ion batteries play a prominent role here. They are of central importance for the development of the lead market for electromobility in Germany and for the stationary storage of renewable energies. In order to strengthen Germany’s competitiveness in this key technology, industrial companies and application-oriented research institutes have joined forces to form the “Lithium-Ion Battery Competence Network” (KLiB) industrial association.
