Bioenergie Brunsbüttel Contracting GmbH (BEBC) operates a 30 megawatt biomass thermal power station and supplies its neighboring industrial customers in the ChemCoast Park Brunsbüttel with thermal energy in the form of process steam from renewable raw materials. In addition, BEBC produces around 45,000 megawatt hours of "green" electricity annually. Of this, 40 thousand megawatt hours are fed into the public grid of the upstream grid operator.
The plant is located in Gronau-Epe in the "Sunderhook" farming community and produces biogas from renewable raw materials. For example, corn, grass and low-quality grain that is not suitable for food production can be processed.
