A cluster for sustainable and infrastructure-compatible hydrogen economy at the Research Centre Jülich, including the establishment of research utilisation chains.
HH2E projects are based on: the needs of local industry and communities; Achieving price parity of green heat and hydrogen with carbon-intensive energy; Production of a significant proportion of the green hydrogen required in Germany on site. Large amounts of wind and solar power are stored as heat and then made available as treated steam to meet industrial needs. The HH2E plant converts peak electricity from wind and sun into green hydrogen using a highly efficient, innovative electrolysis technology. This is then supplied to industry and municipalities or used as fuel for turbines or fuel cells for reconversion.
Transformational technology for low-cost, zero-emission hydrogen generation.
The HiTES technology for hydrogen generation is based on allothermic steam reforming using energy from biomass. After the hydrogen (H2) has been separated from the resulting gas mixture (synthesis gas), the remaining chemical and sensible energy is used to generate and superheat steam. It is also used to dry the biomass. This energy recirculation achieves a very high degree of efficiency in the overall process.
HiTES Holding GmbH was founded with the aim of generating hydrogen and storing electricity, as well as developing, planning, constructing, selling and operating corresponding systems.
Manufacturing of metallic components for electrolysers in medium to high volumes.
HORIBA FuelCon is one of worldwide leading manufacturers of innovative testing and manufacturing systems for fuel cells, batteries and electrolyzers. The renewable energy production – as the key for a turnaround in energy policy – brings a lot of challenges. As a future-oriented company we are aiming to set new measures with our testing systems as an important step towards intelligent energy solutions.
