The Federal Office of Energy Cooperatives represents the interests of 850 energy cooperatives, which are organized under the umbrella of the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Association (DGRV). The federal office in Berlin is the central point of contact for federal politics, but also for authorities, associations and the public. The main task is to give the energy cooperatives a voice in the national political debate about the energy transition. The federal office is supported by the DGRV together with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative Association e.V., the Cooperative Association e.V., the Cooperative Association Bavaria e.V. and the Cooperative Association Weser-Ems e.V.
The OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE foundation (foundation of German industry for the use and research of wind energy at sea) was founded in 2005 on the initiative and under the moderation of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The coastal states and all economic sectors involved in offshore wind energy were also involved. The aim of the foundation is to consolidate the role of offshore wind energy in the energy mix of the future in Germany and Europe and to promote its expansion in the interest of environmental and climate protection.
The “Hydrogen Initiative Münster” (WIM) was founded in 2020. The founders were equally fascinated by the topic of hydrogen. This gave rise to the idea of setting up the hydrogen initiative for Münster and the Münsterland. We organized a first round of experts, in which experts gave lectures on the subject of hydrogen.
