Ab Ekorosk Oy is a municipally owned waste management company founded in 1990, which provides waste management services for its member municipalities.Ekorosk operates in 10 municipalities and serves 124,000 inhabitants. Evijärvi, Kauhava, Kaustinen, Kokkola, Kruunupyy, Luoto, Pedersöre, Pietarsaari, Uusikaarlepyy and Veteli belong to the operations area. The Group has sales of approximately EUR 14 million. The centre of operations is Pirilö waste centre in Jakobstad.
The Stormossen company is owned by six municipalities in Ostrobothnia to manage the waste from the owner municipalities. The company’s turnover was 13.4 million euros in 2021. The centre of the business consists of the waste treatment plant in Koivulahti (Kvevlax) in the municipality of Mustasaari (Korsholm). Stormossen currently employs about 42 people.
