ForWind is the joint Center for Wind Energy Research of the Universities of Oldenburg, Hannover and Bremen.
The Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets contributes towards developing the political and institutional framework for a sustainable energy system. The intensive utilization of renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency are key strategies to satisfy energy demand, ensure security of supply and protect the climate in an environment- and resource-saving way.
Fraunhofer UMSICHT is paving the way to a sustainable world. With our research in the areas of climate-neutral energy systems, resource-efficient processes and circular products, we make concrete contributions to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. We develop innovative, industrially feasible technologies, products and services for the circular economy and bring them to application. The focus is on the balance of economically successful, socially equitable and sustainable developments.
We exist to close the remaining innovation gaps to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. To reach this objective, we accelerate innovation in critical industries – such as cement, aviation or shipping – where sustainable solutions are still in very early stages. We urge policy-makers to intensify and better prioritize their R&D activities. Moreover, we initiate and actively drive high-level research consortia on critical technologies for these neglected technological sectors.
The FVV conducts research in a global network on technological and scientific foundations for climate neutrality and zero-impact emissions in sustainable energy conversion systems.
The Molasse Basin in Bavaria is the hotspot for geothermal use in Germany. That is why three Bavarian universities, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and the University of Bayreuth (UBT) joined forces in 2016 as the Geothermal-Alliance Bavaria (GAB) to bundle research and clarify open scientific questions.
GNOSIS promotes, coordinates and develops collaboration across the academic, defence, industrial and political sectors to understand and solve problems relating to the sustainable use of Space.
