Georg Dasch, solar house architect, and Wolfgang Hilz, solar engineer, have been dealing with this for more than 20 years. In 2004, together with other engineers, they founded the Sonnenhaus-Institut e.V. Inspired by the Swiss solar pioneer Josef Jenni, they developed a solar thermal construction and heating concept for buildings that largely cover their annual heat requirements for heating and hot water directly from the sun. Since then, architects, developers, planners, energy consultants, installers and solar system manufacturers have joined together in the competence network Sonnenhaus-Institut.
